Kim Kardashian’s Ex Doesn’t Want Divorce Trial Rushed Due to Pregnancy
Jerritt Clark/WireImage (LOS ANGELES) — Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy has become an issue in her lengthy divorce proceedings with her estranged husband, Kris Humphries. The reality star, who’s expecting her first child with boyfriend Kanye West, wants the divorce trial to take place as soon as possible. However, Humphries doesn’t seem to be in a rush. In a court filing obtained by TMZ.com, a lawyer for the Brooklyn Nets basketball player argues, “What is really going on here is that an ‘urgency’ in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something [Humphries] had nothing to do with, is perceived by [Kim] as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial.” The attorney reportedly also asks, “Indeed, why would [Kim] plan to get pregnant in the midst of divorce proceedings?” Humphries says he wants to be present for Kardashian’s deposition but is unavailable until mid-May at the earliest due to his commitment to the Nets.
